The Zurich Marató de Barcelona officially opens registrations today for March 14, 2027, with a clear message: if 2026 was the year of records, 2027 will make history. The success of the last edition has placed the city in a new sporting dimension. The results achieved position the Barcelona course among the four fastest in the world over the distance, only behind Chicago, Berlin and London.
It is a fast yet highly attractive course, passing through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Here, the driving force is also a city that pushes you forward every kilometer. With this strong foundation, the 2027 edition aims to consolidate Barcelona as the ultimate stage where runners’ dreams and challenges come to life on the asphalt.
David Escudé, Councillor for Sports, highlights that the latest edition was a great success and that Barcelona is preparing for a major step forward, both quantitatively and qualitatively, next year: “The Zurich Marató de Barcelona 2027 will be an incredible edition that will once again place us at the heart of international athletics and among the world’s leading marathons.”
